The Welly Doodles Guardian Home Program

Our adult breeding dogs do not live in a kennel.

They live as full family members in trusted Guardian Homes inside greater Palm Beach County. The Guardian Home Program is how Welly Doodles raises healthy, well-socialized litters without ever asking a dog to live anything less than a family life.

    How the program works.

A Guardian Home receives a breeding-quality Welly Doodles puppy at no cost, raises that puppy as a full family member, and partners with us during her or his breeding years. In return:

    • We retain breeding rights during the breeding term.

    • For females: the breeding term lasts until she turns 6 or until we determine her breeding is complete, whichever comes first. Females have up to four litters during that time.

    • For males: the breeding term lasts until he turns 7 or until we determine his breeding is complete, whichever comes first.

    • At the end of the breeding term, full ownership transfers to the Guardian Family and we cover the cost of spay or neuter.

The dog never returns to the breeder permanently. She is your dog from day one. We simply share her breeding years.

    What We Pay For

    • All health testing and screening

    • All prenatal and postnatal veterinary care

    • All breeding-related vet visits

    • Whelping and neonatal puppy care

    • Spay or neuter at the end of the breeding term

    What the Guardian Family covers

    • Routine and emergency veterinary care

    • Food (Life's Abundance or a Welly Doodles-approved alternative)

    • Professional grooming (minimum monthly)

    • Levels 1 and 2 professional training by 8 months of age

    • Day-to-day life, love, and family integration

    Time Commitment During Breeding

We want every Guardian Family to know exactly what they are signing up for. During each breeding cycle, your dog will be with us for approximately:

    • 5 to 7 days during heat for breeding

    • 9 to 12 weeks for whelping and nursing (the dog returns to us 7 to 14 days before due date and stays through weaning)

A female Guardian dog will go through this cycle up to four times across her breeding term. Outside of those windows, she is home with your family.

    Who We Look For

     A great Guardian Family is:

    1. Resides in greater Palm Beach County

    2. A homeowner with a securely fenced yard (no underground fencing)

    3. Home enough that the dog is not alone more than 4 hours at a time

    4. Committed to feeding our recommended nutrition, professional grooming, and the required training program

    5. Comfortable with monthly photo and health updates so we can see how she is maturing

    6. Excited to share their dog's breeding years with us as a true partnership
