Australian Labradoodles Origination....The labradoodle became known in 1988, when Australian breeder Wally Conron crossed the Labrador Retriever and Standard Poodle at the Royal Guide Dogs Associations of Australia in Victoria. Conron's aim was to combine the low-shedding coat of the poodle with the gentleness and trainability of a labrador retriever, and to provide a guide dog suitable for people with allergies to fur and dander.
The Australian Labradoodle founders Beverly Manors of Rutland Manor and Angela Cunningham of Tegan Park of Australia sought to improve the breed that Wally had started. They developed research centers and have worked diligently for over 20 years to establish and develop the Australian Labradoodle breed as we know it today.
They began by carefully infusing several other breeds into early generations of their Lab/Poodle crosses, to improve temperament, coat texture to eliminate shedding, conformation, size, and health of the breed in order to reduce the known genetic diseases commonly found in the Labrador Retriever and the Poodle.
Among the infused breeds are: Irish Water Spaniel, American and English Cocker Spaniel, Cockapoo and the Curly Coated Retriever.
What is a regular Labradoodle?
A Labradoodle is a dog that originates from breeding a Poodle with a Labrador. They are often labeled F1, Fb or multi-generational. When two seperate breeds are crossed, the outcome is very random. Genetically, the pups are not consistent, and can result in some being more like one parent or the other. Regardless of if it is a 1st or 3rd generation, the inconsistent results of look, temperament, size, coat and health aren't predictable, and is not a risk that most that are informed are willing to take, especially for those that need an allergy friendly dog. Because they cannot be registered and there isn't an organization maintaining a database for these pedigrees, most of them are being bred without the diligence of proper genetic health testing and pedigree research that is mandatory for producing healthy puppies.
It is important to support breeders that are upholding these high standards through Australian Labradoodle Association of America, Australian Labradoodle Club of America and/or Worldwide Australian Labradoodle Association memberships. These organizations maintain massive databases where bloodlines are registered and proven with DNA profiles, to maintain the integrity of the breed. These associations of registered breeders are held to a high standard with both their breeding and ethical practices, as /well as protecting the health and accuracy of the breeding dogs linages.
Always look for a multi-generation Australian Labradoodle if you are an allergy sufferer.
Our puppies are raised in a dedicated puppy room within our home, alongside our children. Starting at just 3 days old, we introduce them to the comprehensive Puppy Culture curriculum, which includes Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI) until day 16. Our aim is to provide early socialization and desensitization to loud noises and new experiences, as this has been proven to yield positive results. To reinforce this program, we use positive reinforcement and clicker training. These initial steps set the foundation for our puppies to confidently navigate the unpredictable nature of the world.
At around 3 weeks old, we begin litter box training, and once the puppies have received their first set of shots, we transition to outside potty training. Around 7-8 weeks old, we start a structured training program for crate and leash training. In order to prepare them for grooming, we also establish a weekly spa time routine that includes nail clipping, bathing, and blow-drying, all in a stress-free setting.
Moreover, we raise our puppies based on a therapy and service dog curriculum, with the ultimate goal of producing healthy, happy, and self-assured puppies.
We hold ourselves to rigorous standards when it comes to the health of our dogs. Our testing process goes above and beyond the guidelines established by the Worldwide Australian Labradoodle Association (WALA), Australian Labradoodle Association of America (ALAA), and the Australian Labradoodle Club of America (ALCA). In fact, we conduct over 20 genetic health tests, including those for hip and elbow dysplasia, patellar lunation, PRA, VWD, IC, EIC, and cardiac issues.
Our commitment to the health of our dogs is unwavering. We offer a 2-year genetic health guarantee that covers any health issues that significantly impact the quality of life for the dog, as determined by at least two licensed veterinarians. Additionally, all of our breeding dogs undergo DNA profiling to verify their pedigrees.
We sell all of our puppies through a contractual agreement. The cost of a pet Australian Labradoodle puppy is $3,500 (which includes a 7% FL sales tax) when purchased under a non-breeding (spay/neuter) agreement. This agreement requires that the puppy be spayed or neutered to maintain the health of the Australian Labradoodle bloodline and to prevent unplanned pregnancies and puppies without homes.
To reserve a spot on the litter of your choice, we require a non-refundable reservation fee of $500, which will be applied toward the total purchase price of your puppy. The second installment of $1,500 is due at birth, with the remaining balance due on Puppy Pick Day at 7 weeks of age. We accept 4-5 reservation fees for each litter prior to birth and will start a waiting list for any additional puppies after they are born. Reservation lists fill up quickly and can be fully booked several months in advance. Please note that we cannot reserve spaces without the reservation fee since we receive many inquiries.
In the unfortunate event that there are not enough puppies in the reserved litter, we will happily transfer your fee to the next available litter. If you prefer, we will also refund your fee in this instance.

Lifetime support for you and your Welly Doodle puppy! We will always be here to answer your questions and concerns, and help you in anyway we can throughout the life of your puppy.
Yes, we certainly agree that training your labradoodle will only accentuate their already wonderful personalities and make them a loving part of your family dynamic. Puppy training is more for the new owners than the puppy! We make every effort to lay a foundation for potty and crate training that is appropriate for the age. We spend countless hours exposing the puppies to many different situations, sounds, people, textures, car rides, our dogs, etc. We encourage you to continue this for the optimal success of your Welly Doodle puppy.
We still highly recommend you also use a professional puppy trainer, especially during those first 16 weeks of age. You can sign up for a class or better yet, have someone come to your home once a week for a month or two to observe you and your puppy in your own environment.
With the worlds current conditions, my family and I have personally used Baxter & Bella online puppy school. You have a live trainer available without the need to leave the comfort and safety of your home. Learn more about this amazing program by clicking the Baxter & Bella training link below.
Having this great foundation will help to ensure you will have a well behaved dog for many years to come. Not all training is the same, we recommend a trainer that uses a positive approach. A great trainer will help you and your new puppy better understand each other and you will have a great bond and relationship from the start that will be well worth the investment.
We only accept 5-6 reservations per litter prior to the puppies being born, the rest of the families that are interested in that particular litter join our waiting list. Since our girls tend to have larger litters we then can move to the waiting list. Since many families are on multiple waiting lists, they tend to move rather quickly when we have larger litters. We often have puppies go to families on our waiting lists so know there is a decent chance at getting a puppy if you're on the waiting list.
We encourage all our Forever Families to visit us at our home on pick up day. This gives you the opprotunity to ask any last minute questions, but we do realize this is not always possible with life’s demands and responsibilities. Instead we offer several options to get your new family member safely to its forever home.
We prefer not to ship our puppies, should you not be able to drive-in or fly in to pick up your new puppy on Gotcha Day from our home in Wellington, FL. We can meet you at one of the three local airports in West Palm Beach (PBI), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), or Miami (MIA). You can then take your family member home with you in a soft-sided carry-on bag in the airplane cabin. We charge $150 fee to meet at FLL or MIA airports.
Lastly, we can have our “Welly Nana” deliver your puppy to your nearest airport, upon availability. There is a $500 fee for this service, this does not include the price of the airline ticket. We prepare your puppy for flight by getting your puppy use to the soft- sided carry case prior to departure day.
We will always try to minimize stress to your future companions when needing to fly home. We’ve worked very hard to ensure all our puppies are confident and can easily adapt to their new surroundings.
Should you not be able to pick up on the designated days, we will gladly keep your puppy for $40 per day after the go home date(when available).
