Puppy Training with Baxter & Bella

I received my professional degree from Utah State University in Mathematics Education and enjoyed the privilege of serving as a full-time teacher for multiple years. Throughout my experience in various capacities, and in working with kids from many diverse backgrounds, I learned how much I truly love helping others realize their full potential, no matter the subject material. Teaching has been an amazing opportunity for me to observe that moment when the light turns on for an individual learner, and they begin to better understand how to properly connect concepts for optimal outcomes. Just as I have seen students flourish in their learning journeys, I have also explored dog training resources like Baxter & Bella, which provide an excellent online puppy school to help new pet owners ensure their dogs reach their full potential.

As a professional trainer, working with dogs has always been a dream of mine, and I feel blessed to strategically combine this lifelong passion with my background in education and curriculum development to effectively teach and efficiently train within the dog world. My enthusiasm for collaborating with others and my sincere commitment to excellence drive me to positively impact the statistics regarding the number of pets that ultimately remain in loving homes. This success hinges on a community of professionals dedicated to coaching animal owners on how to connect, learn, and teach others to live harmoniously with their pets.

After transforming my interest into a profession, families began reaching out to me for dog training, which launched me on an exciting journey of seeking education and professional development in the dog training world. I thoroughly enjoyed the books, classes, mentors, and especially the teaching and training time with the animals. I loved learning and implementing my knowledge to help others. Throughout this journey, I contemplated how I could have an even greater influence and wanted to provide resources and materials for every trained dog I worked with, so families could continue the training and fully understand the education their puppy received while in my care. This led to the creation of Baxter & Bella, with the hope of sharing my dog training resources with as many new puppy parents as possible. Today, as my business continues to grow, I am committed to offering the most current, impactful resources, tips, tricks, tools, and techniques that focus on teaching family pets appropriate behavior and coaching pet parents on effective training. At Baxter & Bella, it’s part of our DNA to foster positive and respectful relationships with our animals as we work toward becoming best friends through love and learning!

With years of experience in the animal training field, I currently train puppies for everyday family life, educate individuals through my online puppy school, and work one-on-one with clients in their homes. I have completed a semester of study in Animal Science at Utah State University, spent nine months training puppies at Puppy Steps Training in Northern Utah, apprentice trained for 18 months at Good Dog! Autism Companions, and now serve as a professional service dog trainer for their organization. Each of these experiences has enriched my knowledge, which I enjoy sharing with others to help them become better puppy parents. I am also an AKC CGC Evaluator and a professional member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) and the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC), dedicated to using science-based, positive, and force-free training methods without relying on force, pain, fear, or intimidation.

Additionally, I strongly believe in lifelong learning and am currently enrolled in a Masters training program to enhance my methods, improve my materials, and build better relationships in the future!

Along with being a math educator and puppy trainer, I am very blessed with the title of wife and mother. I am an enthusiastic stay-at-home mom who chooses to spend a portion of my time volunteering in classrooms for my three children, working with puppies, and creating dog training resources for the everyday puppy owner. My dream is simple - I hope that through teaching you how to pick a puppy, in addition to training the basic household manners, instilling the necessary obedience commands, and introducing proper socialization skills, I will be able to positively impact the number of dogs who will remain living in homes with their families where they belong. I also utilize Baxter & Bella's online puppy school to enhance my training methods and provide the best resources for puppy owners.
